FLUSAR TRENCH OPERATIONS & TECHININCAN This course meets or exceeds the general requirements of NFPA 1670 “Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents,” Trench Rescue, Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level. Regulations and standards outlined in OSHA 1926, and NFPA 1006, “Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications,” Trench Rescue will be explained and applied. • This program will address: Scene Management and implementation of a trench rescue emergency action plan Collapse indicator recognition and scene safety surveys Atmospheric testing & monitoring, ventilation, and dewatering operations Shoring system construction and installation, including lumber, screw-jacks, and pneumatic systems Construction of load stabilization systems Intersecting trench rescue operations Patient access, packaging and extrication techniques
